Well reports surfaced last week that the two sides were close to a deal, and today they finally struck one. The Chicago Bears have locked in their super star running back Matt Forte for another 4 years, a deal that will give him an average of $8 million per season. Forte has been crucial for the Bears over the last few seasons, providing a proverbial shoulder to lean on when the passing game wasn’t doing so well and wasn’t so reliable. He’ll be an even bigger asset this year now that Brandon Marshall has been added to the WR core, and Jay Cutler, I’m sure, couldn’t be happier.
Forte has started all 16 games the last 3 seasons, has over 6200 all-purpose yards and 29 total TDs.
