The Cardinals traded for Kevin Kolb from the Eagles to almost no avail. Kolb stayed injured and Skelton came in and one a few games…which leads a few to believe Skelton will be the eventual starter in 2012 as well. I’m sure the Wiz has full confidence in Kolb and will leave him out there to try and get the job done, but if he can’t stay healthy, there will be problems.
Beanie Wells fared well in 2011 despite shaky QB play, rushing for almost 1100 yards, with 10 TDs and averaging 4.3 ypc. Larry Fitzgerald is still out wide, and he’ll be assisted by Michael Floyd out of Notre Dame, giving the eventual starting QB another consistent target while Fitzgerald is obviously double covered. The rushing defense has to step it up next year as they gave up 124 yards per game, you allow your opponent to run the ball and they control the flow of the game…you compliment that with a QB who’s shaky and can’t mount points, then your offense gets shut down and your running back holds no merit.
These are going to be two places Arizona needs to focus on this season, if their QBs can’t get going, they need to prepare for yet another mediocre season, but they will have the rest of the foundation that they need to build a successful team once again.
