The Buffalo Bills have made an unexpected free agency splash, signing probably the most coveted defensive free agent on the market.
Mario Williams, former Houston Texans Defensive End, has signed with the Bills, a 6-year deal worth up to $100 million and $50 of it guaranteed. The Bills are switching to a 4-3 defense and will need an end like Williams who definitely saw more success as a DE in a 4-3 than a hybrid in Wade Phillip’s 3-4 style. Williams will team up with Marcel Dareus and Kyle Williams, a defensive line that was tied for 27th in sacks, but an opportunistic defense that was 6th in INTs and tied for 7th in fumble recoveries.
The Bills started off hot last season before losing an exceptional amount of games consecutively. If Fitzpatrick can cut the turnovers all the way down, the Bills could actually hold true to the playoff threat they created last season.
