Texans Release Clemens, To Sign Garcia

According to the Miami Herald and Chris Mortensen of ESPN, the Houston Texans have cut #3 QB Kellen Clemens and will sign 41-year old Jeff Garcia as his replacement.

The Texans have been hurting at QB since Schaub went out against the Buccaneers several weeks ago, and backup QB Matt Leinart broke his collarbone two weeks later against Jacksonville.  Rookie TJ Yates will continue to lead the team, but now has two 35-year plus quarterbacks to learn from, and will be the Texans security blanket should Yates begin to struggle.

The Texans are currently 9-3, on the way to their best season in franchise history with just one more win, and a possible bye-week in the AFC Playoffs.
