Even though numerous reports about a 7-year, $40 million deal have surfaced, Urbs is adamant that he has not taken the job and wishes to spend the holidays with his family. I’d be inclined to believe if this did’t sound so familiar….
I know, I know, two different situations, Urban was having health issues and wanted to spend more time with his family, then immediately jumped to ESPN doing color analysis. No problem, but then it became more and more frequent, and it’s obvious he still has an itch to coach, and with all these positions opening up, especially outside the SEC, Urban can get in, rebuild a program and not be forced to deal with a tough conference every week.
To me it’s not a matter of if Meyer is going to take this job or not, it’s a matter of when he will officially accept it.
